The answer is yes and no. Thoughts and memories cannot completely disappear but it is possible to take the emotion out of the thought to lessen its grip on you. Then more positive thoughts can take the place of negative ones.
The first step is admitting the futility of your cause. You have to really want to move on from that person first.
Then ask yourself two questions:
- Why did I become addicted to that person?
- How can I forget that person?
The first question can be anwered through psychotherapy so you understand yourself better. The second can be helped with hypnotherapy.
The hypnotherapeutic technique involves you seeing the ex as a non-person. Then I use post-hypnotic suggestions about you being strong on your own and independent. This approach rids your mind of the emotional pain and obsessive needs you have associated with the person.
Dependency on another person can be tied up with low self-esteem and lack of confidence. A series of hypnotherapy sessions can help you to gain self-worth so that you can seek new relationships on an equal footing, radiating self-belief and attracting real love to you.
