Many years ago I had cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for depression and the therapist told me to change my thoughts. He was right of course but back then I didn’t have the tools to know how to do it. When I discovered hypnotherapy I finally managed it and I haven’t looked back since.
I learned that the mind responds to two things: the pictures you make in your head and the thoughts you tell yourself.
For too long I had been filling my head with negative thoughts and images. So how to change them?
Another crucial thing you need to know is that the mind responds to repetition. Tell yourself positive things over and over and over again. Put images in your head of yourself as a successful person – exactly how you want to be.
Act as if it’s true. You know that old saying: fake it until you make it. Do it!
Start with these:
You are loveable.
You are enough.
You are significant.
You are beautiful.
The universe wants you to be here.
You have phenomenal coping skills.
Everything is available to you.
Get that image in your head of you as you were always meant to be. Make it full colour. Fill your mind with it. Add sounds. Step into it. Be in the image. That’s you.
You are unstoppable.
