How To Heal From Anything

Kelly Turner has been conducting research into radical remission. This is what doctors call cases where people recover from illness without any scientific explanation. She interviewed people all over the world who had recovered from cancer and chronic fatigue syndrome. She found all had got better through lifestyle changes. Here are the main changes she found:

  1. Empowerment. The patients did not just do what their doctors suggested. They took action on their own behalf and realised they had the power to heal themselves.
  2. Radically changing their diet. Most patients followed a diet rich in vegetables. Many also began juicing each day. A lot of people followed the Gerson Protocol.
  3. Releasing suppressed emotions. Much disease can have emotional origins in early experiences. Having therapy  such as hypnotherapy and energy work can help release these feelings.
  4. Increasing positive emotions. Again therapy can help here and daily affirmations. Do things that bring you joy.
  5. Bringing movement into your life. This could be yoga, qi gong, running, dancing or whatever exercise you enjoy.
  6. Having strong reasons for living. This could be family members or even pets that make you feel like you need to carry on.
  7. Deepening your spiritual connection. This can be organised religion but it doesn’t have to be. You can pray, meditate, do yoga, read enlightening texts and spend time in nature.
  8. Using herbs and supplements.  Many patients explored herbalism, Chinese medicine or engaged a naturopathic doctor.
  9. Following your intuition. Your body knows how to heal itself. You just have to find that stillness to listen to it. Qi gong, yoga and mediation can help.
  10. Embracing social support. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your network. If you don’t have a network find one in churches, local community groups, clubs and societies.
